Little Big Planet Karting Leaks, Custom Features and 2012 Release

Back in February, Sony announced that Little Big Planet Karting was in development via Twitter but no further details were revealed. Good news did finally come as Sony released a new video trailer and announcing that the game is being developed by United Front Games.

Little Big Planet Karting will be for the PlayStation 3 and will uphold its motto "Play, Create, and Share."  Previous LBP games utilizes side scrolling gameplay, but its new karting version will offer levels with wider areas for driving and unique racing tools such as bouncing pads and grappling hooks.

"Our goal with LBP Karting has been fairly simple - provide a fast-paced experience that captures the best of classic karting gameplay, married with the unbridled creativity of LBP," said United Front Games senior producer James Grieve. "This new adventure will be accessible to players of all ages and have all of the variety necessary to satisfy both the hardcore and more casual players."

The game plans to offer different modes and one of the main ones include an online multiplayer feature.  Players can race against other people along with battling them in arena race tracks.  It was also confirmed that Little Big Planet Karting will feature 3DTV capabilities as well as PlayStation Move steering wheels.

Players will also find new customizable options in the game such as creating and sharing 3D environments, racing karts, race weapons, race tracks, and even rules.

Sony has not confirmed the date to release the game but it is expected to be available in 2012 exclusively for the PlayStation 3 system.
