A new trailer for Bethesda's upcoming survival horror title The Evil Within shows off the game's many enemies that will stand against the player as well as the high-powered crossbow that will help the player get where he needs to go regardless.
Make Every Last Bullet Count With The Evil Within's Latest Trailer
Throughout the game, Detective Sebastian Castellanos will encounter the undead Haunted. The Haunted come in several different forms that are equally gruesome to look at and dangerous to engage. With many enemies that have the ability to take the player down with a single attack, the player would do well to utilize stealth and take out enemies while they don't notice him.
Of course, stealth isn't always a viable option, like when Sebastian goes up against the Keeper, a menacing enemy with a locked safe for a head. To fend off the Keeper, Sebsatian is best off using his Agony Crossbow, an in-game weapon that uses scrap metal as ammunition. The crossbow has many different uses, and Sebastian can count on it to freeze, shock or detonate his enemies when he's low on traditional bullets.
Not satisfied with merely placing a stream of deadly monsters in the player's way, The Evil Within's levels can kill as well through a series of clever environmental traps. If the player can get good enough at identifying these environmental traps, he can use them to take out unsuspecting enemies or to lose enemies that are hot on his trail.
The Evil Within is set to hit PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC systems on October 14.
