Stop whatever you're doing and listen to me: there is a new game coming out in 2015 for the Sega Dreamcast. Does that sentence seem like the ravings of a madman to you? It's true, I swear. The much loved, little supported cult video game console is getting a new game 13 years after its discontinuation.

There at least 10 million of you who should be excited about this. Ghost Blade is the new game for an old system. The tile comes from small, German developer Hucast, who are the videogame equivalent of the last chopper out of Saigon. They continue to create some great little throwback titles for the obsolete system. Their founding principle is quite literally devoted to the DC:
"Our project is continuing to support the SEGA Dreamcast console at the end of its lifecycle developing 2D shooting games."

Ghost Blade is a classic 80s shmup like Galaga, updated with modern graphics. In Ghost Blade, Earth is invaded by an alien race who threaten humanity's very existence. To destroy this menace, the Earth's Army launches its new powerful weapon: Ghost Blade, the most lethal, fastest spaceship developed from men. There will be lasers, bombs, stars and so much stuff coming at you on screen that you may need to consult a doctor before playing.
To celebrate the announcement, Hucast has released a new trailer. No release date has been set, but the company is looking for some time next year. You can pre-order the game here. Oh, and yeah, you're going to have to wait for the actual disk. This is old school, kids. No fancy downloading here.
Dust off those Dreamcasts- they're about to get something new and wonderful.
