Marvel is quite excited to bring us a new version of The Man Without Fear, Daredevil. The Netflix series will be coming next year as part of Marvel's new television deal with the company, but before then they're bringing the hype machine to this week's New York Comic Con.
Dark Horse Bringing All The Goods To NYCC
A panel featuring several of the stars and creators of the show was already announced, in which it is rumored that the House Of M will be showing off the first footage of the series. However, fans can also get up close and personal with the actors in a short autograph session. From 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, attendees can line up at the Marvel booth (#1354) to receive the autographs of Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), and Vincent D'Onofrio (Wilson Fisk)
As an added bonus, fans who come to the booth during that time will receive a Daredevil poster, drawn by the one and only Joe Quesada.
NYCC Variant Covers Of Female Thor And Death Of Wolverine
Daredevil is part of Marvel's new deal which will bring the less-than-cosmic superheroes in the New York City area - Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones - to the online streaming site. Daredevil is the flagship series, as he has the most name recognition amongst the public (though it might not be positive recognition) but all the heroes will join up in a giant crossover called The Defenders, the name the disparate group of NYC heroes takes up when their city is threatened.
Hopefully, Daredevil and the rest of the Defenders can accomplish what Agents Of SHIELD has been unable to: giving us a look into the common man's viewpoint of the Superhero Age. Hell, even the next Superman movie is apparently delving into the broader societal effects of tiny gods roaming the earth, and that movie can't make up its mind about anything.
Marvel released a new, simple logo which echoes the classic Silver Age art.
We're small but mighty and will get to as much NYCC stuff as we can next week. Follow along with us here.
