Marvel today has announced that the little movie that nobody believed in, that movie that didn't feature well-known characters and didn't star any A-list actors and had not one but two entirely CGI creations and is also the highest grossing movie of the year, is coming to Blu Ray.
NYCC News: Female Thor Variant Cover For Sale At Con
Guardians of the Galaxy will arrive on Digital SD, 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray, DVD and VOD on December 9. A 3D Digital and Digital HD version will be available on November 18, but that just doesn't look as sexy on your wall alongside the rest of the Marvel DVDs, does it?
If you're one of the five people who have yet to see the movie (I am looking at you GameNGuide editor Alex Riviello), Guardians of the Galaxy follows the adventures of Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) as he finds himself caught up in an intergalactic war. He must team up with a band of misfits and criminals, who are dubbed the "Guardians of the Galaxy" by the film's end, to prevent a terrible power from being unleashed.
Stan The Man Lee Will Not Be Attending NYCC This Year
This may sound crazy, but it fits within the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Infinity Stones make an appearance and indeed, are explained for the very first time. That big purple guy featured in Avengers? He's there, too.
Digital 3D, HD, & SD*, 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray bonus materials include:
- Never-Before-Seen Deleted Scenes
- Making-of Featurettes
- Exclusive look at Marvel's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" - additionally, this will be the only extra on the standard DVD.
- Gag Reel
- Audio Commentary (which will be amazing no matter who shows up; this movie looks like it was so much fun to make)
You can pre-order the set today. Come and get your Blu Ray!
