Last week, Smite announced the upcoming release of a new playable god, the Roman forest god Sylvanus. Today, fans get to see Sylvanus in a new light as a new video on the Smite YouTube channel shows Sylvanus in an actual battle setting.
Get The Details Of Sylvanus' Support-Focused Kit Here
We've known the details about Sylvanus' support-focused kit for a fews days now, but now the forest god's setup can be seen in context. The video laregly confirms what has been the assumption since Sylvanus' announce: The guy's all about support.
As the video demonstrates, Sylvanus has very little ability to do damage or finish an enemy off. His demonstration scenes always pair him up with a more offensively equipped ally who can focus on taking down enemies while Sylvanus helps to chip away at everyone's health over time. Sylvanus is also good at making sure allies are supplied with a slight but steady stream of health, magic and other protective buffs.
Smite Also Announced Two New God Skins Alongside Sylvanus' Big Reveal
But Sylvanus doesn't necessarily have to be all about playing support. He's also an adequate tank. As the video shows, Sylvanus' bulkier stats coupled with his ability to heal himself means Sylvanus is able to take more than a few hits without worrying too much. During big fights, not only will Sylvanus be able to soak up his fair share of the damage, he'll also be able to lay down some buffs and heals for his team at the same time, giving Sylvanus the potential for a unique role in Smite team dynamics.
Smite is free to play on PC.
