Nintendo and Gamestop will be hosting a Super Smash Bros. 3DS tournament the day after the game's release in locations around the country and the Nintendo World store in New York.

The 64-player events, set for October 4, will operate on a first-come, first-served basis with no pre-registration. The winners of each local tournament will compete at Nintendo World on October 11, which will be broadcast live on Twitch and YouTube.

There's no prize money at stake--just the glory, a trophy, and a robe. Tournament participants are not required to bring their own 3DS or 2DS system or game, though can certainly do so, and character customization will be encouraged. Below is the full list of participating Gamestop locations:
