The development team at 2K has revealed another new feature for NBA 2K15, MyCareer Mentors.
Guide To Destiny's Crucible Marks And Reputation
The developers recorded dialogue from players on every NBA team to be used in MyCareer for giving the player advice in the locker room, no matter which team your pro is playing for. You can watch the feature demonstrated in the new trailer below.
It may not be a new mode or game-changing feature, but it seems to be a well-implemented and thoughtful addition. 2K was certainly not under pressure to include this (I don't recall something similar in other sports titles, either), but another feature to make a popular game mode deeper and more immersive is welcome. Hopefully the recorded lines aren't too repetitive or generic, or players will be itching to skip past these cutscenes.
EA Sports Begins Patching In Missing NHL 15 Features
The 2K NBA titles have been impressive for consecutive years, and the developers are happy to keep adding features. Competition is back this year in the form of EA's NBA Live, so the deep modes and solid core gameplay will need to keep coming for 2K to maintain dominance. EA controls the vast majority of simulated sports, save for baseball (Sony's MLB 15: The Show is the only major game released this year), so 2K will be doing everything it can to hold onto the NBA market.
