Outworlders and Mortals! We come to you with glad and bloody tidings concerning Mortal Kombat X's character roster. Cyborg warrior Smoke and psychokinetic Shao Khan enforcer Ermac might be in the game. Let's take a look at the evidence.
MKX Will Have Themed Controllers For Both Xbox And PS
Netherealm senior character artist Bernard Beneteau posted a couple of fairly awesome Zbrush models on his personal blog earlier this year. Now, he does mention that he whipped them up in his spare time, and if you download the .jpgs they are clearly marked "fan art". But let's take a moment to think here and consider whose fan art this is - the senior character artist for the studio that does the actual games this is fan art of. If Ermac is in the game, who's to say this look won't be partially his?
Regarding Sub Zero's kuei lin brother Smoke, we have eventhubs to thank for this one. CD Jr, a figure of some repute in the fighting game community, noticed that when Kotal Khan's Sun God variant is hovered in the IGN demo, you see the Aztec fighter pound on what appears to be a grey ninja. Could this be Smoke or just some random placeholder figure to show off how awesome Kotal Khan is?

As always, we'll keep you updated! Besides Kotal Khan, officially featuring fighters are Sub Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, Kano, Cassie Cage, Ferra/Torr, D'vorah and pre-order bonus character Goro.
Mortal Kombat X will be released for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on April 14.
