Gameplay and secrets are pouring onto the web from those who own the game or have played the demo, but that won't stop the official announcements.
There is still no set release date for the Wii U version of the game, while the 3DS edition is set to launch in North America on October 3. The pic of the day posts by series director Masahiro Sakurai via the Miiverse forums will likely begin to shift toward the console version as the 3DS game launches.

For now, the posts continue to focus on the 3DS version as the game launches in Japan, which means new features can be discussed. The above image shows off the online multiplayer Conquest mode--here's what Sakurai has to say about it:
"Now that the game is out in Japan, the Conquest mode will be available in online multiplayer in the Japanese version. This is what the title screen will look like for the overseas version. In this mode, the game aggregates global wins among specific teams during a limited time and determines the victor. If you choose a participating fighter from the With Anyone option, you'll automatically participate in Conquest. We'll be running Conquest in beta for a while."
Keep checking back for more Super Smash Bros. news, which will hopefully include a Wii U release date soon.
