Rockstar Games has just confirmed that Grand Theft Auto V will finally hit next-gen systems November 18, 2014, with a PC version to follow January 27, 2015. You will be able to transfer over your existing character progress, but will it have been worth the year-long wait?
Assassin's Creed Unity Co-op Heist Missions Detailed
Well, most likely. While the format of the game has long grown stagnant, GTA V changed it up enough with the three playable characters to offer a genuinely fun and thrilling experience, and the inclusion of GTA Online alone guarantees that you'll have months of fun with the game if you so desire.
In this next-gen version the draw distance and resolution have been greatly improved. Those are the two most obvious improvements when you compare the versions- from the screens and videos it's obvious that you can see a tremendous distance, which will make driving and flying that much more impressive.
Newest Payday 2 Update Offers Hotline Miami DLC
The game will also feature the rumored enhanced radio stations, which will offer 100 new songs and new DJ mixes from the game's existing DJs.
Here's the full official list of additional improvements-
- New activities;
- New weapons;
- New vehicles;
- Additional wildlife;
- Denser traffic;
- New foliage system;
- Enhanced damage and weather effects, and much more.
That's not all, though. Owners of the last-gen versions of GTAV will be able to transfer their characters to the new ones and they will find some exclusive content, such as rare versions of cars from across the series, like the Dukes, the Dodo Seaplane and a "faster, more maneuverable Blimp".
Veterans will find new activities to engage in, including wildlife photography, new shooting range challenges, new weapons and more. To get the new content you'll have to have completed the Prologue in GTAV on PS3 or Xbox 360 while online, and have a Rockstar Games Social Club account.
GTA Online will now support up to 30 players online on PS4 and Xbox One, and all updates to the game will be available day one. Pre-order the game and you'll even get $1,000,000 of in-game cash to start you up.
So what do you think? Too standard of a port or are you excited to finally be able to get the game on your fancy new consoles? Either way, to celebrate check out some new footage in a brand new trailer called "A Picket Fence and a Dog Named Skip."
