Every day, we draw closer to the November 21 opening of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, the first half of the conclusion to the Jennifer Lawrence led worldwide phenomenon. A few days ago, we got a glimpse at Katniss's backside, now we get to see the rebellious symbol in full on battle mode.
Katniss Gets The Iconic Back To The Viewer Poster Look
Wreathed in flames with two black wings symbolizing her Phoenix-like rebirth, Katniss is primed and ready for battle with, quite literally, everyone. The poster makes sense from a character point of view; after all, she is the Girl on Fire and her rage will not be undone.
Be sure to look out for this Katniss costume to be a big hit come Halloween and peak convention season.
Meet The Wolf In New Stronghold Crusader II Trailer
Mockingjay picks up soon after the events of Catching Fire. Katniss has destroyed the Hunger Games and broken free of the Capitol and is on her way towards the mythological District 13, once thought to have been long destroyed. Peeta and Plutarch Heavensbee (the late, great Philip Seymour Hoffman) have been conspiring all along and have brought Katniss on as a symbol of the revolution.
If the book covers are any indication, it is clear that Katniss simply will not be contained.
The third book in the series does away with the Hunger Games themselves. The time for games is over. War has come to Panem and very few will be standing when the dust settles.
Where do you think the third film will end? And will the wait be interminable? Tell us in the comments below and find out in November.
