If you're wondering what professional-level tank gameplay looks like, Star Ladder might have the answer.
Tanki Online's Unity Port Should Allow Multi-Platform Play
Season 2 of the Tanki Online Star Series is up and running, with matches starting this afternoon. Tournament matches filled with tank vs. tank action will be running every afternoon (starting at noon EDT, according to the schedule) Wednesday through Sunday for the next several weeks. The matches are set to be live streamed from the Tanki Star Ladder Twitch channel.
The competing teams are all fighting for the same prize, $30,000 and a collection of in-game currency and unique paint. The competition starts in a 16-team round robin style of competition with the top four teams moving on to a double-elimination tournament bracket. Throughout the battles, Star Ladder will be providing viewers with scores, player health and game stats live, letting fans easily keep up with their favorite players or just the matches as a whole.
Tanki Online's 'Rust Barrels' Pits Fans Against The Developers
As a special touch for the finale of this epic tournament, the final bracket matches will be held locally in Novosibirsk, Russia, for some good old fashioned LAN play. The final rounds will happen later this year in November.
The Tanki Online commuity also just finished a developer-run tournament, Rusty Barrels. Three teams of two competed against a team composed of developers, with spectators being able to wager on which side, the fans or the developers, would prevail. In the end, the players, who came from three of Tanki Online's international fan bases, were able to take down the developer team.
Star Ladder holds tournaments for many different online games. eSport industry leaders such as League of Legends, DOTA 2, and even Tanki competitor World of Tanks are among Star Ladder's lineup of games. Tanki Online is free-to-play and playable from within your browser.
