Ah, Sim City, that gaming classic where the meticulous planned out whole grids of urban sprawl with maximum efficiency, while the sadistic just let everything go to such infernal conditions that the real pleasure of the game lay in the option to unleash catastrophes on your unsuspecting city. Such cruelty can now be done on the fly, with EA's announcement of the mobile Sim City BuildIt!
The official word from EA, via Eurogamer, is tells us a bit about the controls: "Pinch, zoom, and rotate 360 degrees as you manage your city in the palm of your hand. With countless buildings and vivid, 3D-quality graphics, it's the most advanced mobile building simulation game."
Furthermore, the type of player that enjoys Sim City is alluded to: "Whether you're a savvy city planner or a strategic mastermind, take control and have fun wherever you are." Does that sound to anyone that catastrophes will be included here? "Savvy city planner" or "strategic mastermind" seem to indicate that meticulousness on the one hand, and the overcoming of obstacles on the other.
