Destiny launched today worldwide, and with it comes the first patch addressing multiple areas of Bungie's online shooter.
Batman: Arkham Knight Release Date Announced
Patch 1.0.1 will certainly not be the last update for Destiny, but addresses various issues the developers were already aware of leading up to launch and balances certain class attributes.
Several general adjustments were made to armor stat cooldowns and the subclass skill tree, in addition to class-specific ability and attribute tweaks. Individual weapons were balanced quite a bit, as well, with almost every gun type receiving changes to base damage and/or accuracy. The full patch notes can be found on Bungie.net.
Custom And Animated PS4 And PS3 Dashboard Themes On The Way
The changes extended to the game modes, too: changes were made to Crucible experience gain, health, and Marks drop rate. Maps and campaign segments received a variety of fixes, as well--the patch is quite comprehensive in scope, and seemingly addresses some problems that were even present in the beta. The unbalanced spidertank boss, for example, has had its health cut significantly.
If you're looking for a specific fix, or are curious what Bungie focused on, I would recommend checking out the patch notes. The overall game should be better for all of this, and should impact the game before the first reviews begin to roll in. Bungie did not provide copies of Destiny to publications in advance of release, so it will be some time yet before reviews are posted--check back here for coverage and impressions as we get more time with the game.
