The point and click adventure may have died an ignoble death, but there are those of us who remember. Pinkerton Road Studio remembers, too. Today, the game developer has announced the release date for the upcoming remake of legendary Sierra adventure game Gabriel Knight: Sins Of The Fathers.
Shadow Of Mordor Xbox 360 And PS3 Editions Pushed Back To November
The 20th anniversary of the classic game is on track to be released on October 15 for both PC and Mac platforms. The game was announced last year (during the actual 20th anniversary of the game). Original game designer Jane Jensen is overseeing the remake alongside Phoenix Online Studios. Sins of the Fathers will include new puzzles, updated graphics, scenes, a fully remastered soundtrack and a whole lot more. Now a new generation can experience all the New Orleans inspired voodoo mystery.
Preorders are now available at Steam, GOG.com, the Phoenix Online Store and more at 15% off the $19.99 retail price, and include the pre-order exclusive soundtrack by Robert Holmes, Jensen's husband and original composer for the series.

Beginning October 6, Pinkerton Road will be running a "10 Days Of Gabriel Knight" countdown. New assets will be released on a daily basis, including screens, scenes and more. Jane Jensen will also release a brand new Gabriel Knight short story, which will mark the first addition to the mythos since 1998.
"It's been a dream to be able to work on Gabriel Knight again, and I'm so exciting to bring it to a new audience. I think it looks amazing and it has all the classic gameplay," said Jensen.
The Gabriel Knight trilogy is one of the most influential mystery games to come out of the incredible run from Sierra games back in the mid-90s. Sins of the Fathers is hailed as one of the best written games of all time, we here at GameNGuide are excited to have it coming back for a new generation. Hopefully the two sequels, The Beast Within and Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned, will get their own remakes in the future.
Players will take on the role of roguishly handsome Gabriel Knight, a struggling author and owner of a bookstore in New Orleans, who is investigating the Voodoo Murders for his new book: a series of savage ritual killings surrounded by voodoo trappings. But his search into the dark underbelly of New Orleans will reveal far more than who's behind the killings, as Gabriel is drawn to the beautiful and aloof Malia Gedde, learns the secrets of his family history, and must comes to grips with his own destiny if he's going to survive.
