Yesterday, Microsoft revealed that Minecraft will be hitting the Xbox One tomorrow. Not to be outshined, Sony announced that the PlayStation 4 version of the ultimate sandbox experience will be released today, with PS3 owners able to upgrade and transfer saves for a small fee.
Xbox One Minecraft Coming Friday
New players who, after all this time, are finally deciding to join the party can pick up the PS4 Minecraft for $19.99. Existing PS3 players who are itching to make the jump to new-gen building can upgrade on the PlayStation Store for just $4.99, as long as they log in to their PS4 using the same SEN account under which they have a saved Minecraft game on the PS3.
For the new PS4 version, Sony is boasting worlds 36 times bigger than those on the PS3 version. Of course, progress players made on their old system isn't for naught. PS3 saves can transfer over to the PS4 version with no problem. According to official comments on the PlayStation blog, all DLC purchased on the PS3 will work with the PS4 as well.

The game right now is only available as a digital download, but physical discs will soon be available. More info on that, Sony says, will come later.
For all of you Vita owners, 4J Studios is still working on that port, having stated for a while now that it wasn't quite at the development stage that the Xbox One and PS4 versions had reached.
