Great puzzle games aren't just limited to certain professors with a penchant for top hats. Fireproof Games' The Room puzzle series has been sweeping the mobile arena for a couple of years now, and it's coming back with its third iteration.
Professor Layton Vs. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Finally Hits American Shores
The original The Room was an iPad game that brought engaging and mind-bending puzzles in a mysterious, eerie setting to the world of touch controls. Through sliding, poking, tilting and a healthy amount of "Okay, I'm stuck," players can make their way through several beautiful levels that force them to think sideways and keep the big pictures in mind. Winning Apple's award for best iPad game of 2012, The Room still enjoys near-perfect reviews on the App Store, and even came to the PC via Steam this year.
The Room Two expanded this formula to the iPhone with a sequel that has earned the same near-perfect reviews as its older brother, becoming one of the top App Store games of 2013. Now, the franchise is back to go for the trifecta with The Room Three, slated to come out in the spring of 2015 to iOS and Android.
Samsung Reveals The Gear VR, A Smartphone-Powered Virtual Reality Headset
Fireproof also announced that it is currently developing a game exclusively for the Samsung Gear VR, Omega Agent. For those that missed yesterday's news, the Gear VR is a new virtual reality headset from Samsung that uses a Galaxy Note 4 as a screen and runs on Oculus' software. In the ambitious game, the player becomes a special agent in training navigating a futuristic-looking city on a jetpack.
Both The Room Three and Omega Agent will be playable at EGX London from September 25-28.
