Halo PAX Prime Showdown Tournament Livestream: Watch Pro Teams Compete In Halo 2 Anniversary For $10,000

Today's Halo PAX Prime Showdown matches are about to get under way in Seattle, allowing participants to compete in The Master Chief Collection's Halo 2 Anniversary for a $10,000 prize pool.

Fan-Favorite Lockout The Next Map Remastered For Halo 2 Anniversary

Teams had to qualify yesterday by playing matches throughout the day at various PAX booths, which were not streamed. Today's games will begin at 12 p.m. PDT, and the finals on Sunday start at 11 a.m.--you can watch through the livestream embedded below.

Several teams of pro Halo players from past MLG and other tournaments will be heading out to the conference to try to claim the prize, and to test out Halo 2 Anniversary for themselves. These teams were given invites, and did not have to qualify (understandably). One such team is playing under the VwS Gaming banner and consists of top-end pros Naded, Legit, Mikwen, and Goofy.

Another invited squad--playing under Excellence Gaming--will feature some of the biggest and best names in the Halo competitive scene on one team: Strongside, Pistola, Snipedown, and Ace are attending the event together, with Elamite Warrior as coach.

There is also a dangerous Triggers Down lineup consisting of Heinz, Hysteria, FearItself and Lethul. A full list of both invited and qualified teams can be found at Beyond Entertainment, a site dedicated to the coverage of competitive shooters and the esports community. Halo 2 hasn't been on the competitive circuit for years, so it will be interesting to see how the players perform in the game, which could make a return to MLG alongside Halo 3 when The Master Chief Collection launches.
