Netherealm Studios head honcho Ed Boon has officially stated that there's no Kiefer Sutherland in the upcoming tenth game in the Mortal Kombat saga MKX, despite his cast lising on IMDb.

One fan tweeted a screenshot of said Internet Movie Database page at Boon, who promptly denied the erstwhile CTU agent and Lost Boy's involvement.
This comes on the heels of Boon's earlier denial that we should expect no DC characters. Freddy Krueger has not yet been officially denied, however.

"Freddy Krueger was the most downloaded character in Mortal Kombat 9," he said to Polygon in a post EVO 2014 interview. "Scorpion was the guest character in Injustice, and he was the most downloaded character in that game. It's working out for us, and I'd be surprised if we ignored those numbers."
However, he added ""I'd be hard-pressed to have a DC character as a downloadable character in Mortal Kombat X. [...] I have no desire to cut Batman's head off. I have no desire to kill Superman. [...] From my perspective, there's the Mortal Kombat universe, where you can do the extreme violence. The Injustice universe is superheroes and more over-the-top stuff as opposed to blood and gore."
No one in their right minds would ever call Mortal Kombat blood and gore over the top, of course.
