Some industrious World of Warcraft website WoWHead contributors have found a djinn (or Genie, if you will) NPC tagged Robin and a couple of other seemingly Robin Williams career-inspired characters.
Blizzard Updating WoW Group Finder
The three characters found by WoWHead so far tagged Robin have been a male blue djinn, a male human, and a female human.
One Kotaku reader points out that the blue djinn is actually an enemy from a previous update, but this doesn't necessarily exclude the fact that they'll re-use the character model in a different context and perhaps with some alterations. Have a peep with us to see what Williams' immortalization in-game might look like.
New Lava Dogs To Celebrate WoW's 10th Anniversary
The first character obviously would be a reference to Williams' voice role as the Genie in Disney's 1992 Aladdin, a fantastic performance that would be a milestone with a bit of an unfortunate legacy as it heralded the dawn of the era of mainstream animated movies that stuffed their casts full of celebrity voices, often to far lesser effect.
The man with suspenders could very well be Mork, Williams' alien character from 70s/80s sitcom Mork & Mindy, his big network TV breakthrough. My mother still says "Nanoo, nanoo!".
The grey-haired human lady with the tag can only be a reference to Williams' drag-role as Mrs. Doubtfire from the eponymous 1993 comedy with Sally Field and worst Goldeneye 64 player ever Pierce Brosnan.
What do you think? A fitting tribute to Robin Williams, master of laughs and epic loot gatherer in the world of Azeroth?
