PlayStation's YouTube channel today uploaded a gameplay trailer for the PS4-exclusive Bloodborne, showing off the horrors that the 2015 game and the eerie city of Yharnam have to offer.

Most of the trailer consists of the player character slicing and dicing his way through the cursed city of Yharnam. Between bouts of swinging at several variations of what look like zombies from the Victorian Era, he stoops to pick up some different weapons like Molotov cocktails and something called the "Hunter Bullet."
Through most of the gameplay demo, the player character is seen dual-wielding a firearm along with his trusted axe. And though the firearm seems like a decent way to get a baddie's attention, interrupt an attack or do some medium-range damage, it's clear that swinging around the melee weapon is what's going to let you mow down your opposition most effectively.

The trailer also showed another character with similar weapons to the player show up when he was fighting some particularly resilient and aggressive quadrupeds. The two men team up to clear out the beasts then part ways when the danger is over.
Bloodborne is a PlayStation 4 exclusive being developed by From Software, the same people that brought you the steep difficulty curve of the Demon's Souls/Dark Souls franchise. Only time will tell if Bloodborne can live up to the acclaim of its older brothers, but in what other game can you say you swung a battle axe at a wheelchair-bound man pointing a blunderbuss at you?
