The tournament consisted of two separate competitions--one for Pokémon X and Y, one for the trading card game--and took place Saturday and Sunday. Six players are now champions according to the hosts, who praised the franchise's fanbase.
"The 11th annual invite-only tournament was more than winning or losing; it's an event that showcases the incredibly strong and passionate Pokémon community," the press release stated. "A look back video which played during yesterday's Closing Ceremony perfectly exemplifies the passion and bond Pokémon players, fans, and supporters have."

The passion and joy shown in the video is pretty infectious--the fans are just happy to come together and share what they love. This is a brighter side to the gaming community, a much-needed reminder of how enjoyable the industry can be amidst too-frequent reports of studio closings, layoffs, harassment, criticisms, and other negatives.
