A new The Walking Dead game is on the way from Overkill Software and Stabreeze Studios, who will work with Robert Kirkman and Skybound Interactive to bring a new cooperative title to fans.
New Dragon Age: Inquisition Trailer Focuses On Enemies Of Thedas
The game was announced earlier today through a pretty foreboding, sad trailer, which you can view below. That sounds enticingly uplifting, I know, but it should get you intrigued for what's to come. Overkill is the studio behind the Payday series, the multiplayer, FPS heist games available on PC and consoles.
The trailer paints a more serious tone, but it remains to be seen what type of gameplay and story the title will offer. Overkill is a Starbreeze Studios developer, and the publisher posted an FAQ on its website that gives us at least an outline of what to expect from the title.

"Overkill's The Walking Dead is a co-op first person shooter with elements of action, role-playing, survival horror and stealth that invites players to explore the hugely popular The Walking Dead universe, where they will play the role of survivors fending for themselves in a post-apocalyptic world dominated by flesh-eating walkers. In 2016 Washington will fall--what will you do?
"Overkill's The Walking Dead is currently under development by Overkill--a Starbreeze Studio--and will be released in 2016."
Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead source material, appears at the end of the trailer to say a few words about the involvement of Skybound Interactive, which owns the property. He promises this title will be the co-op game fans have been waiting for--check back for more details as development progresses.
