Open world zombie action title Dying Light has been given a new trailer, showcasing the city-traversing feats and zombie-smashing tricks you'll be able to pull off when the game releases next year.
Metro Redux Trailer Demonstrates And Explains Graphics Upgrade, New Gameplay Features
There's certainly been no shortage of zombie-themed games, it's true, but you can decide for yourself if Dying Light stands out from the crowd based on the new trailer. The game is being developed by Techland, and will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in February 2015.
We previously wrote about how the game's footage put an emphasis on the human side of survival, but are wary to assume many of those elements will be part of the gameplay (especially after Dead Island). What does seem to be present, though, is fun-looking action combat against hordes of zombies, which you can fight (or run from, parkour style) in a variety of ways.

Perhaps neither game will end up focusing much on the emotional toll of survival, but Dying Light could be what Dead Island was aspiring to with its combat and action. The latter wasn't all bad, but it was not the most dynamic experience. Dying Light stresses its four player co-op capabilities, as well as the major differences between gameplay at day and night (good luck).
Enjoy the trailer below (released for Gamescom, where it will be playable), which ditches the more human side of the story for action-based, zombie killing fun.
