The PlayStation 4 is getting a brand new edition of the most accurate surgery title of all time, with every update to the game so far as well as a mode exclusive to consoles.
Unlocking the Alien Surgery in Surgeon Simulator
Surgeon Simulator Anniversary Edition is the name, and it is hitting the PSN store on August 12 (August 13 in the UK) for $12.99 / €10.99 / £8.99.
It will have everything included in the PC/Mac/Linux and iPad versions, from painful eye and teeth surgeries, to alien autopsies, to challenge levels that see you trying to perform intricate operations on the back of a speeding ambulance or smashing through hospital doors, or even in space.
Real Doctor Plays Surgeon Simulator, Hilarity Ensues
The thing that makes it so much fun is that it's almost impossible to control. On the PC each finger of the surgeon's hand is controlled by a seperate key, making it nearly impossible to do anything without a ton of practive. Even simply grasping a tool is a nightmare. Of course, this is where the wonderful dark humor comes in, as you accidentally cut off bits of a patient or drop tools in their open cavity.
This version will also include 56 trophies for you to attain, a huge amount for a downloadable title.
Want a great idea? Pick up both this and Octodad for a butterfinger double-feature.
The reveal trailer below is most certainly not safe for work, as our hapless surgeon accidentally cuts out eyes and pulls out intestines with his hands. Get ready to be sued for malpractice next week.
