Another week, another whole new batch of games to buy on the Nintendo eShop. Let's see what they have for us:
A Whole Lot of Hyrule Warriors Screens Just Hit
First up, the Virtual Console for the Wii U is getting some choice content.
Mega Man 5 - this is the August of Mega Man. Every week this month, Nintendo is putting up a new game in the franchise in its store. The NES classic, the fifth entry in the beloved franchise, puts players through 13 levels of platforming action. The entry is not the most well loved and suffered from a lack of originality, but for $4.99, it's the perfect price to get your nostalgia on.
Mario Kart 8 Mercedes Benz DLC Lets You Drive In Style
Super Mario Kart - the one that started it all. Super Mario Kart is celebrating its 22nd birthday. Extremely difficult and hard to control, the original SNES game introduced us to the world of faux-3D cart racing. How the franchise has progressed from infuriating but fun two player runaround to one of the most beloved game series is one of the great stories in video games. The seeds for its rise to power are all there; the tracks, the coins, the power up blocks (which are planted in the road). It may be old, but it's never gone out of style. Well worth the $7.99.
Cybernator - In the year 2065 AD, the nations of Earth have split into two major powers: the Axis and the Federation. These governing bodies are constantly at war for land, which has even extended into the frontiers of space. Take on the Axis powers in your Assault Suit in this side scrolling, future based platformer. Fight from the earth, to the moon and beyond! $7.99.
The Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console is getting a special treat, too. The Mysterious Murasame Castle, a 1986 top down rpg, is getting its first release outside of Japan in its life. When a mysterious force takes over Murasame Castle,Takamaru, a brave and young samurai apprentice, has been sent to investigate. He must infiltrate all four castles and defeat the lords before making his way to Murasame Castle. Use sword and shuriken attacks against the swarms of enemies, and unlock the secret behind the source of evil.
The eShop on the 3DS will see an update to Steel Diver: Sub Wars, a freemium naval attack sim that can boast 8 players in epic 4v4 combat. "Premium-version players get new local Friend Battle stages, new unlockable subs and crew, and new features that make it even easier to battle online with friends. The free version now allows players to purchase subs and use a single-play coin to battle online."
The week's sales include:
Johnny Impossible, Samurai Sword Destiny, Zombie Slayer Diox and other UFO Interactive games are on sale starting on Aug. 12 at 9 a.m. PT until Sept. 2 at 9 a.m. PT in the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS.
Internal Invasion is reduced from $4.99 to $1.99 until 9 a.m. PT on August 8 in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U.
Stay tuned for next week. We should be getting not one, but two, yes, double! the dragons then.
