Brazilian puzzle adventure game Toren aims to make poetry fun with stunning graphics and an intriguing fairy tale setting.
Outcast Odyssey Looks Like A Gorgeous Card Game
In Toren, the player takes control of a young girl protagonist as she travels up a tower ("Toren" is Dutch for "tower", incidentally) that shifts and changes as her journey continues. Accompanied by and interwoven with an epic poem, this melancholy looking platform puzzle adventure is more than a little reminiscent of such classics as Shadow of the Colossus.
Indie publisher Versus Evil will now be partnering with dev Swordtales. "Toren is a great example of the type of game we look to partner with," said Steve Escalante, general manager of Versus Evil. "It's a unique, exciting, and beautiful game with a story that truly captivates the player. The Swordtales team has done a great job in developing this magical world and we're thrilled to be partnering with them. We look forward to sharing more information in the months to come and to finally releasing Toren to gamers across the globe."
Sunset Overdrive Character Customization Looks Ridiculously Elaborate
The official website talks about a relentless enemy, mortality, and the deep questions of life. Considering the trailer shows our little girl protagonist growing up... I think I got something in my eye already.
Toren will see release for PC, Mac and PS4 sometime in early 2015.
