Ed Boon Drops Hints Re: MKX Release Date
In Mortal Kombat X, every fighter will have three distinct variants, complete with different abilities and power sets per outfit. In this new video embedded below, Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon talks a bit about what we can expect from the God of Thunder himself, Raiden - a klassic character that's been with the series since its very first game.
Raiden comes in Master of Storms, Displacer and Thunder God variants. With Master oF Storms, you'll be able to set electricity based traps on the battlefield. Displacer adds various teleportation and mobility powers. Thunder God meanwhile increases hits to some normal attacks and adds Enhanced Lightning. Meanwhile, the fighting arena revealed in the vid is an Outworld Marketplace.
Presence Of Kano In MKX Leaked By German Gaming Mag
The Kotal Kahn outfits shown in the background are Blood God and War God. The former adds boosting totems, while the latter adds macuahuitl based special moves for the Aztec inspired fighter. If that link is tl;dr, a macuahuitl is one of those Aztec cricket bat looking things you can bash your opponents with.
Here's some additional info for last-gen console owners straight from the horses mouth as well:
