Bandai Namco announced Rise of the Incarnates at this year's E3, a new fighting game set in a post-apocalyptic maelstrom where demons and gods walk the earth. The trailer got folks at E3 excited, and now, the company has announced the North American beta.
Hyrule Warriors Shows Off Darunia's Sweet Moves
The beta begins August 8 at 12:01 a.m. PDT and will run 10 days until August 17 at 12:01 a.m. PDT. The game is entirely free to play and players "will enjoy acrobatic aerial and visceral ground based combat, brutal super-moves and power-ups, and strategic environmental manipulation." That last one has me very excited.
Players participating in the Rise of Incarnates Closed Beta will be able to play as Mephistopheles, Lilith, Grim Reaper, and Ares. The Incarnates that have been released thus far. In the wake of a cataclysmic event, where strange cubes fall from the sky, the spirits of mythology have been awoken inside of people, who can harness characters from across the world's collected legends and, obviously, do battle to see who is the best.

Brynhildr, the Viking shieldmaiden, will be added to the character roster as well on August 13th. Battles will take place in the New York City and Paris levels; both of which feature level designs that allow players to utilize the environment to their advantage. The Closed Beta will have a selection of in-game purchasable options available; this will allow players to try out a selection of in-game character customization options.
Rise of the Incarnates is a 2 on 2 actioner designed for the PC exclusively. No word yet has been given about console support. The game is designed by the same team that brings us Soul Calibur and Tekken, so you know we're in good hands.
The previous Alpha testing period was quite successful and the dev team took a number of the player comments and suggestions to heart. New features include:

-Introduction of new character, Brynhildr (8/13)
