The anticipation for the latest chapter in the ongoing Middle-Earth saga is reaching a fever pitch. Knowing this, WB Interactive has moved up the release of Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor for its UK audience.
SDCC Releases The Third And Final Hobbit Poster
The game, originally scheduled to be released on Tuesday, October 7 is now being released on Friday, October 3. A weekend is the best time to play and that will give gamers a solid 48 hours to dive right back into Tolkien's world. Britain is the home of J.R.R. Tolkien, so perhaps the company is giving the country that has given the world so much a little early taste as a way of saying thanks.
No word on whether or not the game will ship early here in the States. Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor will be available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC.
Middle-Earth: Shadow Of Mordor Behind The Scenes Video
The game is a true bridge story, encompassing the events between the end of the upcoming The Hobbit: The Battle Of Five Armies and the original The Fellowship of the Ring. In it, the players assume the role of Talion, a Ranger who is unlucky enough to be at the edge of Mordor the very night that Sauron returns. He is killed but resurrected as a wraith by a vengeful spirit. Needless to say, heads will roll.
The game introduces a new Nemesis system, in which the player can control enemies, have them fight and will even influence future interactions you have with them. Every enemy has its own personality and will respond differently to you.
Be sure to stick around for even more Shadow of Mordor news. The game has its own panel at SDCC today at 12:30 Pacific Standard.
It's a very packed October and this is one of the most anticipated titles coming out. Check out the trailer below!
