The Last Of Us, one of last year's most acclaimed new titles, got points not only for its gameplay, which I found surprisingly 'weighted' but also its somber and emotional story. It was a truly cinematic experience for the player and now, the PS3 game is coming to the big screen.
No New Single-Player The Last Of Us DLC Planned
No, it's not an adaptation starring Josh Brolin and Ellen Page. Not yet at least. The Last Of Us: One Night Live is a live theatrical multi-media tribute to the zombie survival game. On Monday, July 28, fans can tune in to the PlayStation's official twitch channel to watch the show. Sadly, the tickets have all been sold out to attend the event in person at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica.
From the official PlayStation blog: "One Night Live will highlight the artistry behind The Last of Us with a live reading of select scenes by the principal actors, under the direction of Neil Druckmann from Naughty Dog. Scheduled to appear are Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, Merle Dandridge, Hana Hayes, and Annie Wersching. In addition, Academy Award winning composer Gustavo Santaolalla will perform selections from his score."
Agents Of SHIELD Gets A Warrior Princess
How this all fits together will remain a bit of a mystery until it happens, but trust me when I say it will be a very special evening.
Some of my fondest memories in video gaming have not been when I have played, but when I watched. One weekend, I sat down and watched my then-roommate play Uncharted 2: Among Thieves the entire way through and it is, to this day, one of my all time favorite games. Never touched a button of it.
Color me intrigued about this event. Tune in this Monday.
