The Simpsons Arcade Game: 2 Decades later, Still Satisfies

Simpsons fans can now rejoice and experience a little bit of nostalgia.  The classic arcade game makes its way onto XBox Live and PlayStation Network after being released over two decades ago. Konami continues to release popular button mashing arcade style game from the 90's such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Turtles in Time, X-Men, and now The Simpsons.

Konami's attention to details and work put into the game has withstood the test of time.  With basic gameplay and a thin plot, gamers can still have a blast running through 8 stages fighting Springfield's cast of zany characters.  Gamers can choose to play as a character from the famous cartoon family.  Homer uses his bare fists to punch and kick.  Bart uses his skateboard to glide and swat enemies.  Lisa skips along with her jump rope and whips oncoming goons.  And Marge uses a vacuum to attack.  They battle each stage in trying to rescue baby Maggie from Mr. Burns and Smithers.

Players can team up in 4 player mode online and battle through using jump, attack, or utilize a special team move where two characters can perform a joint attack.  This will be essential in defeating more difficult bosses in later stages.

The Simpsons family battle through Springfield Downtown, Krustyland, Moe's Tavern, all the way to the Nuclear Power Plant where they face off with Mr. Burns in an epic battle.

The game consoles replicates the original classic down to the last pixel.  Being one of the first Simpsons game created, it still remains popular among most fans.  The new version allows several gameplay options such as a Japanese version, Unlimited Lives, Single Life, and Virtual Quarters.  If you still crave the satisfaction of button mashing  through forty minutes of gameplay with your favorite Simpsons characters, then this game is a can't miss.
