Bioware will be hosting a panel to discuss Mass Effect 4 at San Diego Comic-Con next week.
World Of Warcraft Character Model Improvements Continue With Updated Draenei Graphics
The panel, named "Charting a Course: Developing the Next Mass Effect", will consist of several Bioware employees including the lead animator, community manager, two producers, and the senior artist.
The panel will focus on the development process of the game and the challenges the team is facing creating this new segment of the franchise, which is expected to focus on someone other than Commander Shepard for the first time.
Microsoft Layoffs Coming For Thousands According To Report
In May, a rumored title emerged for the game in development, which will supposedly be called Mass Effect: Contact. In the Mass Effect lore, the First Contact War took place when Humanity first met--and clashed with--the Turians after discovering space-faring technology. This took place many years before the events of the Mass Effect trilogy, falling in line with the idea that the fourth game's story will focus on new characters and events.
The panel will likely give us the first official details on the game, though I wouldn't expect too many specific plot or character reveals. Instead, we're likely to get an idea the direction the game is headed in, and maybe the setting or title confirmation.
Moving the series on from what fans have come to love (Shepard, Reapers and friends) will be difficult, but the universe is rich enough to support other potentially great stories. The panel will take place Saturday, July 26 at 2 p.m.
