At Dragon Ball Xenoverse's recent presentation at Japan Expo, eagle-eyed fans took note of the character select screen. While only a couple of characters were filled in, they were more interested in all the slots available- a number that seems to indicate a massive amount of characters in the upcoming game.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse Reavals Mysterious New Character, 4-Player Multiplayer Battles?
As reported by DragonBallXKai.net, there's. While the game is still in development, the character screen shows 21 character slots, with a total of six pages to scroll through, offering us potentially up to 126 playable characters.
Crazy enough, this might actually be a step down from the amount of characters. Developer Dimps' last Dragon Ball Z title, Budokai 3, clocked in at 161. Of course, many of those are variations on characters but still, it's a far larger number than most any other fighting game on the market.

One of those characters will undoubtedly be the mysterious red-haired individual that Bandai Namco has loved to tease us about but been hesitant to reveal anything about just yet. Hopefully we will learn more about who this character is soon.
While Dragon Ball Xenoverse is being pushed as the first next-gen title in the series, coming to both Xbox One and PS4 and offering incredible, never-before paralleled graphics, don't forget that it will be hitting the PS3 and Xbox 360 as well. Expect it to release sometime later this year.
