‘Lords of the Black Sun’ Update: Beta 2.0 Brings New Multiplayer Update To Steam Early Access 4X Game

Black Hole Sun… Won’t Ya Come… To Early Access Steam: Lords of the Black Sun Gets Multiplayer And More

Dutch developers Arkavi Studios have announced today that a big update is about to drop in their 4X turn-based space strategy game on Steam Early Access, including the long-awaited addition of a multiplayer feature.

Endless Legend Beta Live on Steam Early Access

In Lords of the Black Sun, you take control of one of many playable races and vie for control of a galactic empire. Sounds familiar, sure, but what Arkavi has added to the experience is some really dirty warfare: you can sow unrest and anarchy in neighboring systems while at the same time using diplomacy to make it look like your hands are clear. Strategy and warfare happens in a turn-based system.

One of the biggest new features is the much-vaunted multiplayer mode: it's currently LAN- and Internet-only, but a Steam Lobby functionality is being implemented, and Arkavi would highly appreciate player feedback on the fluidity of the current multiplayer system.

In-game, they've added some new technologies and ships, as well as a re-balanced military tech tree. Some fixes and balances have been applied as well, taking player feedback into account, as well as the enlarging of UI windows, leading to less cluttered and more clearly legible intelligence screens. Also new is the information of how profitable a planet is popping up immediately once you select it.
