‘Sharknado’ Video Game Coming To iPhone, Ironic Purchases Expected To Soar

With Sharknado 2 Comes A Sharknado Tie-In Mobile Game In The Classic Roger Corman Style

Somehow proving that Sharknado is a real Corman production, the upcoming sequel will be accompanied by an iOS release.

Hearthstone Curse of Naxxramas Pricing And Release Structure Revealed

Let's face it, if Corman could have had a video game tie-in to The Masque of the Red Death, we'd all be playing Vincent Price MOBAs right now. In fact, if some young buck start-up is reading this... Anyway, what you're here for is Sharknado, the SyFy hit about a tornado filled with sharks. Or more accurately, Sharknado 2 and its iOS counterpart. Let's let Other Ocean's Frank Cifaldi take it away!

"When [publisher] Majesco approached us about making a Sharknado game, we said 'yes' before they'd even finished asking," the press release states. "The game we came up with is very much in the spirit of the films: ridiculous, overblown, yet oddly sincere. We can't wait for fans to sink their teeth into it."

Dragon Quest X Coming To 3DS In Japan

I have very strong doubts about the levels of sincerity of this enterprise, but I will applaud its shark-like predatory spirit and Cifaldi's dedication to puns in press releases! The game will be an infinite runner in the style of Minions et al. In it, you'll have to avoid hammerhead stampedes through the flooded streets of NYC, wielding broadswords and chainsaws to fight off mugging megalodons, make big jumps off of tiger sharks, and collect Sharknado trading cards. Sure! Keep an eye on developer Other Ocean's site for more details.

Did anyone ever read big shark novel Meg by Steve Alten? They were going to make a movie out of that, but I don't know what happened.
