The Hearthstone pricing announcement delay continues, sadly. Originally set to be revealed yesterday, July 1, Blizzard had postponed the reveal of the price for Curse of Naxxramas, the first Hearthstone adventure expansion, for reasons not entirely known.
Community manager Aratil, who must have the patience of a saint to endure the slings and arrows that come from the battle.net forums, offered a little insight into the upcoming expansion, its delay, pricing and the reasons why. In several short posts, Aratil kept it slightly vague and deferential.
When asked about the pricing, the mod's response was: "The pricing isn't finalized yet, or else it would have been announced today."

On the topic of the release date: "We are still targeting to release Curse of Naxxramas this month. This has not changed. If this does change, I will let everyone know as soon as I know."
People have been calling for more transparency, because this is clearly the inner workings of the NSA, to which Aratil deftly replied: "I let everyone know of the delay as soon as I knew and will do my best to continue to do so."
The most intriguing revelation came as a response to a long post from forum user Mycosis: "I really, really hope that the reason Naxx is taking so long to release is because they're building an infrastructure that will facilitate more rapid release of future adventures. After all, didn't they say that Naxx was at an advanced stage months ago?"
Apparently, that is precisely the reason why. Blizzard is creating a more streamlined approach to the adventure mode thing, which will aid in releasing future updates like Naxx in the future. A smart move. It stings a little now, but think of how quickly the next expansions will hit the market from time of announcement to release.
"We are currently laying a lot of the groundwork for Adventure Modes in general and intend to be able to leverage this groundwork for future Adventure Modes. This should definitely help with future Adventure Mode rollout times." said Aratil.
The pricing should be coming soon, with the expansion still expected to be released this month. What do you think some of the upcoming Expansions should be? A Frozen Throne adventure? A Sunken Temple? Imagine fighting off Lovecraftian beasties in Hearthstone. Tell us what you think below!
