Bungie has revealed via a tweet this morning that the Alpha will be up for an indeterminate time to come.
"There's a rumor that the #Destiny Alpha might be extended to allow dangerous experiments," they tweeted. "Play beyond the official close at your own risk!"
The alpha has offered gamers the chance to get in countless hours of multiplayer time, both with 6 on 6 PVP matches across two maps, and through a nice chunk of the campaign mode, which sees players joining together in fireteams and competing in co-op missions.

It's just a taste but it already offers hours of fun, and gamers have really been getting into it. It's one of the few games that feels like it fully utilizes the next-gen hardware, offering up beautiful graphics and a high (and steady) framerate. It's a smooth experience already in this early build and while there's still some balancing issues (there are a few boss battles that take forever to complete) it's nothing that can't be fixed for the future.
You may have thought your time in the game was done but dive back in while you still can! There's no word on when it will officially end but presumably there will be something exciting for those of you who stick it out. They're undeniably getting great data from all the thousands of players in the alpha right now and it will be interesting to see what gets changed when the beta rolls around next month on July 17.
If you want to get in on the beta, the easiest way is to pre-order the game on destinythegame.com. Destiny hits stores worldwide on September 9.
