Of Sony's many big showings during the first day of E3 2014, one that really got the crowd going above all others, dare I say, of all of this year's E3, was the first look at the gameplay of Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham Knight. Once again, the batmobile was the star of the show.
Arkham Knight's Batmobile Sports Some Heavy Artillery
The trailer begins with Bats suiting up before promptly dive-bombing from Oracle's Clock Tower HQ. With gravity speeding him up, Batman spreads his cape to glide like his namesake, and give us a great view of the biggest Gotham yet. As soon as he executes a perfect three=point landing, his batmobile is there to greet him like an eager puppy.
We were treated very briefly to the car transforming into "battle" mode before, but this is the first time fans were able to see it in action. Each of the heavy duty weapons was demonstrated, from the 60mm Cannon, and vulcan gun for bulkier vehicles, to the missile barrage to take out multiple targets simultaneously, and riot suppressor with non-lethal rounds for pesky thugs, all to make cruising the city streets a little safer, not to mention a bit more charred and slick with crimson.
With enemies taken care of, Bruce revs up the batmobile for a high speed ejection, launching him into a rapid glide to see things from on high. From there, it's a nice bit of fisticuffs against Cobblepot's goons, until a familiar enemy with a new face hijacks the fee. See for yourself below.
Batman: Arkham Knight was recently hit with a delay. Players can expect it on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2015.
