In addition to a stunning look at the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition, Bioware also let slip some very vague details about the next episode in the Mass Effect franchise, as well as teasing a new IP.
Details are slim on both games. The dev team seems thoroughly excited to utilize the next gen tech of the Xbox One and PS4, which is about the only definitive piece of information we got. The team is excited to start showing off the game, saying that "fans will be surprised" where the game will go.
"While the Montreal studio is working on the next Mass Effect game, our team here in Edmonton is developing a completely new IP," BioWare executive producer Casey Hudson said in a developer diary during EA's E3 press conference.
As for this new IP...in true Bioware fashion, they're holding their cards close to their vest. We got some images of trees. Very nicely rendered trees and some vague and detail-less talk about the environment. And yet we are still super excited about it! Why? Because it's Bioware and we'll get excited about anything those guys make.
It's going to be an exciting couple of months for Bioware. Dragon Age: Inquisition looks utterly stunning and is looking like it will hopefully wash away some of the bad taste the hurried Dragon Age II left in our mouths.
So, what do you think? Bioware is known for its massive, moralistic RPGs. They've gone to space, they've gone to fantasy, what is the next frontier they can tackle?
