The ODC, the original dungeon crawler, is back with a new trailer. The remake of the classic 80s arcade coin-eater Gauntlet is here and showing off its new Relic system, which allows players to further customize their character's powers.
Marvel Heroes 2015 Launches Today
Be careful of those relics, though. "Try to turn the odds in your favor by equipping yourself with powerful relics found within the Gauntlet. Will these magical Relics protect you and your party from danger or will they just get you into even more trouble?"
One of the beautiful things about Gauntlet is that yes, it's a multiplayer co-op game, but only up to a point. Chances are you're playing with your friends and let's face it, your friends are jerks. Why should they get that loot and not you? Diablo III and other modern hack 'n' slash entries now give out personalized loot drops; not so with Gauntlet. Kids these days are going to be in for a world of hurt when they find out Johnny from down the street can steal all the food? Dammit, the Barbarian needs food badly, Johnny!

The 4 classic characters return to try their hand at the evil Gauntlet, a legendary place filled with even more legendary riches. The Barbarian, the Elf, the Wizard and the Valkyrie all bring their unique skills and experience in their attempt to defeat the evil Morak, master of the Gauntlet.
Some of the finest memories one can ever have is spending an afternoon at the mall, pumping quarters into any one of the numerous Gauntlet remakes over the years. I think I actually managed to beat it on several occasions, because who needed money back when you were 16?
Gauntlet releases on September 3 this year. You can pre-order it on Steam now and get a kick ass helmet and axe that you, actual you, can wear around the house.
