Well, it looks like whatever new development is in store for fans of Sniper Elite it does not involve V2. Rebellion's official Facebook page has a bold new banner proclaiming 'Don't buy V2 (this week)." Various tweets over the weekend confirmed this, and also said that one should scope out future partners. "We'd advise against buying Sniper Elite V2 on Steam in the next few days, but we WOULD advise scoping out potential snipers to play with ... news soon."
Sniper Elite III Release Date Announced, Big Announcement Coming
No confirmation if this is the 'big news' the company teased last week. But it's also fair to say that the studio definitely wants you to buy Sniper Elite III on Steam. All pre-orders are 20% off and will include a free DLC. The official banner is some kind of ominous.
Sniper Elite V2 is the remake-quel to the original Sniper Elite, with updated graphics and gameplay for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. If I must speculate, and that's all I can do with such limited information, one would guess that V2 will be part of a package deal when Sniper Elite III hits shelves on June 27 in the UK and July 1 stateside. Rebellion is good people if they don't want their customers to pay twice for the same content.
Ben Foster Talks Warcraft Movie
Adding older versions to the upcoming sequels is nothing new, but I don't remember the last time a company so boldly told you to not download their game. What madness has the world come to?
Stay tuned for more. There will absolutely, definitely be more to this as the days go on.
