'Metro Redux' PS4 & Xbox One Screenshots: New Images Show Off Gorgeous Post-Apocalyptic Graphics

Metro Redux Shows Off Gorgeous Remastered Graphics in New Screenshots

The initially leaked and recently confirmed Metro Redux is remastering Metro: Last Light and Metro 2033 on Xbox One and PS4 in HD, and it looks fantastic from what we've seen so far. Three new screenshots further show off the improvements, seemingly justifying the remaking of two somewhat recent titles.

Metro Redux Details Revealed, Will Be A Real Director's Cut

An online posting of the name and box art two months ago hinted at the existence of this rerelease, prompting developer 4A Games to admit it was in development, and the studio officially announced details last week. Metro Redux will run in 1080p for the PS4 while the Xbox One runs at 900p, and both will feature 60fps.

Metro Redux will cost $49.99 as a bundle (a reasonable price in my opinion for two games that came out in the last few years remastered in HD), but you can also purchase them individually for $24.99 each. The enhancements are not just graphical upgrades according to the developers, but tweaks and additions to the gameplay as well.

4A Games says the remakes will include "advanced enemy AI, improved combat and stealth mechanics, superior weapon handling and more responsive, intuitive controls". It will also include "signature features from Last Light" in both titles, such as the 'mask wipe' mechanic, weapon customization, and silent kills and takedowns.

The DLC Season Pass is also included in Redux, adding what the team says is 10 more hours of content. New "Play Styles" are also included, allowing you to play the campaigns in either a more survival-based, slower approach or action-heavy style. There is currently no exact release date, but the games will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC this summer.
