The Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS details keep coming from Nintendo, ahead of the staggered releases of both versions while we wait for specific launch dates.

We know the title will be out this summer on 3DS, and most likely this winter on Wii U, but it's seeming increasingly likely that we'll have to wait for this June's E3 for the exact release date.
What we will consistently see are daily updates from Nintendo on the game's official site. The last significant info drop came from a Nintendo Direct video, below, which revealed several new characters and details. While the daily posts don't give as many details as that video did, rest assured that series director Masahiro Sakurai will continue to post some form of content from the upcoming titles to appease fans.

Today's post is another update that shows off something that's been part of the last games, but has been reworked. Like the character stances and team color outlines, a small change has been made to the revival platforms, seen above, to give players a visual clue about how much longer they will be able to stand on them upon respawn. Here's Sakurai's description:
"Pic of the day. Here's a look at the revival platforms. The color of the bottom mechanism changes from yellow to red to warn you how much time you have left before you drop into the fray."
You're invulnerable after respawning while on the platform (and traditionally for a second or two after you jump off or it disappears), so the color indicator is useful for planning. It's not a huge detail or character reveal, but yet another change the developers have made to add to the experience. Keep checking back for more Super Smash Bros. news ahead of E3, which will hopefully include an early specific release date announcement.
