'Call of Duty Advanced Warfare' Rumors: 'Modern Warfare' Collection Offers Exclusive Next-Gen Multiplayer Content? [IMAGE, VIDEO]

Picture of Supposed Collection for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Raises Suspicion

A suspect image (seen above) of a supposed collection for all of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare games has surfaced, and there's a few line items that are raising concerns as to whether it's the real deal, or a big, fat, fraud.

The image first appeared over at
Reddit claiming that a Modern Warfare collection is on its way to the PS4 and Xbox One, despite any official announcement from either the developers Sledgehammer, Infinity Ward, or publisher Activision. It also claims to offer bonus multiplayer content for the forthcoming Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

GameStop Announces Its Exclusive Pre-Order Bonus For Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is a Measly Poster. Yaaaaaaaay

Ignoring the lack of an official announcement, the cause for concern as to the legitimacy of the collection (ignoring the fact that it looks like the image was slapped together) is the line about 1080p and 60fps for both platforms. The high-def video mode is something of a sore point for Xbox One owners, as a number of games have been able to pull off the resolution for PS4 games, but not so much for the Microsoft counterpoint. Such games include the upcoming Metro Redux and Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. The recently released Wolfenstein: The New Order was able to pull it off on both platforms, but there seems to be a bit of scuttlebutt about whether or not Watch Dogs will be able to do the same.

Likewise, the supposed collection's post-
Advanced Warfare release date is also a bit odd, as is the fact that there's no mention of Raven Software, which worked on the third title in the series. Still, no company as of yet has come forward to either confirm or deny such a collection as legitimate.

Not too much is known about the game save for what we saw in the announcement trailer. The game takes place decades into the future in 2054, and Jonathan Irons (voiced by Kevin Spacey), CEO of Atlas, a monolithic private military corporation, has got it in his head that he can do a better job of running things than the nation's elected leaders. So, obviously, he begins a war against the government using his employees / guns for hire as his own personal army.

The futuristic setting promises for some very nifty new tech and gadgets, like light bending helicopters, strength boosting exosuits, gloves that let soldiers climb walls like Spider-Man, and no doubt much, much more.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is set to launch worldwide on November 4 for PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Check out the announcement trailer below.
