Today, we finally get another: Ike from Fire Emblem is rejoining the battle off his appearance in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
The daily updates on the game's official site have been consistently revealing new features, items, and stages, but playable character reveals have been few and far between. Series director Masahiro Sakurai chose to show off Ike, explaining is strengths and weaknesses as well as his appearance.
Live Super Smash Bros. E3 Tournament Details Announced
"Pic of the day. Ike, the swordsman of magnificent strength, joins the battle!! Strike your foes down with his powerful smash attacks. For this game, Ike's design is based on the hero that appears in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. His sword deals heavy damage in Smash Bros., so this design suits him very well! Rest assured, he can use Aether as well."
He is wearing more significant, heavy-looking armor in this game, which does fit his play style. In Brawl, Ike's sword swings do a lot of damage for regular attacks, and his smash moves can send opponents flying--a very satisfying character to play as.
He's a bit slow (and using a move leaves him open for a longer than most), so he requires tact to play as, but can be very powerful if he's mastered. Keep checking back for more Super Smash Bros. news ahead of E3, which will hopefully include an early specific release date announcement, or more character reveals.
