It's been a while since we've heard anything about the upcoming PS Vita version of Minecraft, but a new listing at retail giant Amazon has raised suspicions that the game will be here sooner than we might have expected.

Seemingly overnight, the UK arm of the site has listed a physical copy of the game for Sony's handheld. There's no mention of when the game might be coming, but the site has the copy going for £12.85, or, roughly $22. Interesting, as there's been no official confirmation from either developer Mojang or 4J as to when the game is hitting the platform, or if a physical release was even part of the plan.
Of course, this sort of thing has happened with Amazon before, as well as other retailers, and often isn't indicative of either a game's status. Consider that Amazon France had mistakenly listed Grand Theft Auto V for PC release (twice), while Amazon Germany had listed the game for a PS4 release, despite no word from Rockstar.

The last official word we had on the Vita version of Minecraft came last week from Mojang's Jen Bergensten, who tweeted a screenshot of the game's menu, based on the PlayStation 3 version of the game (big surprise). The game is expected to hit the Vita at the end of May, or sometime in June, though neither Mojang or 4J have confirmed this.
In related news, the PS4 version of Minecraft is expected to release this summer. A planned feature is to allow players to transfer worlds from the PS3 version of the game to PS4, and Mojang is looking to doing the same for Sony's handheld PS Vita.
As of April this year, Minecraft has sold close to 50 million copies across all platforms, with over 12 million for the Xbox 360, over 21 million for the Pocket Edition, and 15 million sales on PC.
World customization features were recently announced for the upcoming 1.8 update for the game on PC. You can get a glimpse at it below.
