Night Light Interactive is set to release their debut game Whispering Willows, a 2D horror-puzzle sidescroller for the OUYA on May 27th and on Steam platforms June 17th.
From the press release:
"In Whispering Willows, players will take on the role of Elena, a young girl with the extraordinary power to project her spirit outside of her body, as she explores the shadowy, atmospheric world of the Willows Estate. As a spirit unbound by physical form, Elena can traverse otherwise-unsurmountable obstacles and interact with other ghosts to piece together the dark history of the house - but she will have to use both her spectral and physical forms in order to solve puzzles, navigate through the sinister estate, and find her lost father."
Sounds fun and hopefully can continue the recent resurrection of the moody, atmospheric horror games such as Limbo and Amnesia: A Dark Descent.
Towerfall Leads the Charge in OUYA Sales
The game has received many awards already for its art style, atmosphere and storytelling, such as the Seattle Indie Gaming Competition 2014 and won 'Most Immersive' at the OUYA CREATE Jam in 2013.
Night Light Interactive was founded in 2012 by David Logan and in 2013 ran a successful Kickstarter, raising over $20,000 to fund Whispering Willows. You can pre-order the game on their website nightlightinteractive.com.
After all, any game that allows you to tear your soul out and send it around on errands is okay in my book! Why she doesn't just send it for a pizza is beyond me, though.
