While the alternate history of Wolfenstein: The New Order reveals an awful 1960 where Nazis have won WWII and taken over the world, that only means more Nazis for you to kill. To the moon, Blazkowicz!
Wolfenstein: The New Order Achievements/Trophies List Revealed
Wolfenstein: The New Order is the reboot of id Software's famous series, the one that started the first-person shooter genre as we know it back in 1992 with Wolfenstein 3D. Whereas in the original, which saw you fighting Nazis during World War II and eventually defeating a robotic Hitler armed with chainguns (seriously), here you do no such thing. Here, you lose the war.
The game sees series hero B.J. Blazkowicz being put in a coma for years and awakening in 1960 to find that the Nazis have taken over the entire world, and their technology has grown by leaps and bounds since then. One thing this trailer does show off wonderfully is how much more developed the story is than any other installment in the series, while still retaining that ridiculous fictional feel. We're got robotic dogs, giant monster Nazis, all sorts of insane weaponry, and even, possibly, Nazis on the Moon.
Wolfenstein: The New Order Panzerhund Comes With Massive Dog Mech, No Game
It all looks like ridiculous, awesome fun, and what's more, the game will come with Beta acccess for the upcoming DOOM. That's the new, rebooted Doom 4, and while we have no details about it just yet every Doom game has been steller (if you don't like Doom 3, you're wrong) and this is the best way to check it out early.
Wolfenstein: The New Order hits next Tuesday May 20 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. View the trailer below and get ready to rid the solar system of Nazis, one neck at a time.
